Outside the fibre footprint? nbn® Fixed Wireless beams a broadband signal from a tower to an outdoor antenna at your premises — a solid option for regional and outer-metro homes.
nbn® Fixed Wireless uses a small outdoor antenna fixed to your roof or eave, pointed at a nearby nbn® tower, to deliver broadband without a cable running all the way to your home. It's built specifically for the roughly 6% of Australian premises — mostly regional towns and outer-metro fringe areas — that sit outside the fibre and Fixed Line footprint.
Fixed Wireless plans
Prices include GST. Unlimited data on every plan, 24-month minimum term (an early termination fee applies if you cancel in that time), then month to month. *Fixed Wireless Plus and actual speeds depend on tower capacity and distance, signal strength and in-home setup — we'll confirm what's realistically achievable at your address before you order.
What's involved
Outdoor antenna
A technician installs a small antenna on your roof or an external wall, aimed at your nearest nbn® Fixed Wireless tower.
Indoor modem
A cable runs from the antenna to a supplied nbn® connection box, then to your own modem/router.
Installation timing
Bookable technician appointments — we'll coordinate the install date once your order is confirmed.

How is Fixed Wireless different from Fibre or Fixed Line nbn®?
Fixed Wireless delivers your connection over the air from a tower rather than through an underground or overhead cable, so it's used in areas where running a cable isn't practical — mostly regional and outer-metro locations.
What affects my Fixed Wireless speed?
Distance from the tower, the number of other premises sharing that tower's capacity, and obstructions like trees or hills between your antenna and the tower. We'll check what's realistically achievable at your specific address.
Is Fixed Wireless available at my address?

What's the minimum term?
Fixed Wireless plans have a 24-month minimum term. If you cancel in the first 24 months, an early termination fee applies, and it gets smaller each month you stay. After 24 months your plan continues month to month, and you can cancel with one month's notice. The Critical Information Summary for each plan sets out the fee.
